Thank you for supervising our students and we hope students will learn a lot in your laboratory and you will get a helpful colleague.
There are just a few points to remind you:
- all theses at our department must be practical (bioinformatics is also considered practical, of course)
- once you agree with a student on the topic, fill in please the assignment form - see info in the section for students
you will be asked every semester to confirm, if you are satisfied with the work of your student. If you ar enot (and thus, the student will not get the credits for the bachelor/master thesis), explain please to the students, what is the problem and what should be changed to improve their work
- we have some expectations, how the bachelor/master thesis should look like. Please, check the Requirements_and_recommendations_for writing bachelor and master theses at the Department of Chemistry valid from the academic year 2024/2025 - currently valid newest version.
- if your student is the citizen of one of the EU sanctioned countries, please check info on the regulations and limitations
- only an employee of the FSci USB; otherwise, also a faculty guarantor is needed, somebody who understands the topic and IS RESPONSIBLE for the quality of the thesis (not a formal position anymore)
- supervisor is also responsible for the quality of the work, quality of the thesis; not only the student
- If the work is to include information classified according to a special regulation or on the basis of a contract with a partner of USB, the student, in cooperation with the supervisor, is to request the Dean's consent to use this information on the form in Annex 2 of this Provision. Check the provision D48, please.
