  • Requirements

The students (of any specialization of the BSc., MSc., or Ph.D. study program) who plan to defend their final theses at our department are obliged to present at our Seminar of the Department.
    Examples:
    - a student of Parasitology planning to defend his/her thesis at the Department of Parasitology → enrolls in a seminar of our department.
    - a student of another specialization planning to defend his/her thesis at the Department of Parasitology → enrolls in a seminar of our department.
    - a student of another specialization who only works on his/her thesis at our department (e.g. in our lab, or under the supervisor of our department), but will defend it at another department → does not enroll in the seminar of our department, but enrolls in the seminar of the department where he/she will defend.

Students are obliged to present at the Seminar of the Department:

Bachelor students: at least twice a study, in Czech (10-15 min)

Master students: at least annually, in Czech with slides in English (10-15 min)

Ph.D. students: at least annually, in English (15-20 min)

The obligation to report at the Seminar of the Department is based on the Dean's Measure No. D48 (Bachelor and Master students), which was last updated on March 15, 2021, and on the Dean´s Measure No. D62 (Ph.D. students).

At the seminar the students present the topic of their theses. In the course of the first year of the study, it is assumed that the students do not have enough results yet, thus it is expected that they will present the so far known information about the topic (introduction), and the methodology and objectives of their work. Students should contact and ask Jana Kvičerová (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) for the date of the presentation. Students who plan to defend their theses in the given semester should present well in advance before submitting the final thesis in order to be able to incorporate critical comments.

The course KPA/181 (guarantor J. Kvičerová) runs together with the course KPA/805 (guarantor E. Nováková).

! Important notice for Ph.D. students: enroll in the course KPA/805 ONLY IN THE SEMESTERS IN WHICH YOU ARE GOING TO PRESENT !

THE CREDIT to the STAG for the course KPA/181 is given to bachelor and master students by Jana Kvičerová, and for the course KPA/805 to Ph.D. students by Eva Nováková.
THE CREDIT to the STAG for the course KPA/181 is given for attendance. One absence is allowed.
