About the programme

The Bachelor's programme in Physics is designed to provide those interested in studying physics with the necessary basic physics courses and exercises, as well as the opportunity to expand their knowledge with special physics and other appropriate courses from the university's offer. During their studies, students are usually profiled in one of the department's major areas of focus - materials-oriented applied physics, computational physics, optics, or experimental biophysics. The aim of the BSc Physics programme is to produce a graduate educated in all the basic parts of physics at a level appropriate to the lower (BSc) level of undergraduate study, who has also taken some extension courses in his/her special area of expertise. The graduate is profiled for entry into a follow-up Master's degree in Physical Measurement and Modelling, or Biophysics or Physics with a focus on Education for Secondary Schools. At the same time, the graduate is also sufficiently prepared, thanks to a number of practical exercises, to be able to work professionally and practically as a technician with a lower degree in innovative development and industry, in laboratories and in practice.

Graduate profile

You will learn to:
  • Use knowledge from a wide range of areas of physics, from mechanics to nuclear physics, to solve physical problems,
  • Design, conduct and process physical experiments,
  • Demonstrate physical phenomena and their applications,
  • Use mathematical apparatus to solve problems,
  • Profile oneself in one of the areas of physics through bachelor work and elective courses.
